I tried to pack it in and leave and it didn't work. I felt too horrible about it, so I've worked out a compromise.
I'm still experiencing a lot of loading errors, but I'm making a concerted effort to be on dA more often. I'm focusing more on my own photography business and my own artwork at this moment...but you guys might be in luck.
I'll not be doing passworded packs any longer because they're apparently not allowed. I'm working on devoting a part of my own website for commercial usage of stock photographs, and it's a massive undertaking. That is a work in progress, so pardon my dust, but eventually I will have stock available on an exclusive basis. That is, stock that one person can purchase a license for, and only that person can use it...to more liberal licenses which cover permissions like book covers and model releases and the like. It's coming. Slowly, but it's coming. And for everyone who isn't interested in all that, yes I'll still be offering free stock here. I'll be balancing my professional stock work and this account and try to help both crowds. If you sent me a commercial inquiry, hang tight while I get things together.
The reason I say you guys might be in luck is that I've got a bunch of pals who are very interested in doing some stock photography whom I have not had the privilege of photographing before and are entirely new (and excited about) the prospect of doing stock. That means new costumes, new faces, new ideas, and some folks are even preparing for a big Song of Ice and Fire project once winter hits. (It's coming, afterall.)
There might be hope, yet.
In the meantime, I'm desperately seeking stock images myself. Especially:
-Overhead sleeping shots
-Slavic mythology themed shots
-Arthurian shots ( I see you, Lanny, I see you)
-Men doing awesome magelike things or fighty things. Bronze age is hard to find. Cloaked fellows. Cheeky grins.
-Ladies who are totally cool with me making them look like banshees and replacing their beautiful features with skulls.
I am especially seeking folks who are are cool with me selling prints outside of dA (but not like, major projects. I'm talking prints on etsy), but I'm also willing to pay for licensing/donate if necessary. As a stock artist, I totally appreciate the cost to make such images and want to help out, because so many people have supported me over the years.
Man, thumbnails are hard now. What the hell?
Stock Rules
Credit me in your artist's description anywhere you post it on the internet, and anywhere that is reasonably available.
Notify me. Link me here either on the piece, on the front page, anywhere. It doesn't matter. If you want me to respond quickly, e-mail me.
dA Prints are okay by me. So are print sales on etsy, redbubble, flickr, wherever you can create a print SO LONG AS the crediting and the notifying takes place. Bigger commercial projects, please contact me.
Play nice.
