Premade Fantasy Pack 1 by lindowyn-stock Premade Fantasy Pack 1 by lindowyn-stock
I decided it might be fun to fool around and pre-make some stock for everyone to use. I generally don't like them, because I like to do everything myself... but! I had these and felt like offering them up.

THE ONLY THING I ASK THAT YOU NOT DO WITH THESE PREMADE IMAGES IS: PLEASE. NO. HORSES. Enough with the copy/paste horses. Manipulation is so much more than copy/paste. >.<

The images used here were ALL shot by me; they are comprised only of my own stock. They were all manipulated by me.

If you prefer un-meddled with stock, you can find these components at *Unrestricted-Stock for download, where I have submitted some.

What you will need to use this pack:

:bulletblue: Winrar to open it.
:bulletblue: The password to open it.
:bulletblue: An agreement to follow my terms of use. (Found in my journal header on my front page.)

My terms:
These images belong to me, but you may use them in your art provided all stock rules are followed and the above demands met.

I will NOT provide passwords to users whose galleries contain no submitted deviations. I reserve the right to refuse resources to anyone for any reason.

To obtain the password, you must note me with your agreement to follow the rules I have set forth. They aren't difficult, and are fair. Communication is the key.

Wow, you're a real bitch, you know? Some horse manips are more then 'copy and paste' and just because it's a horse or on a horse sim does NOT mean that's all it is. I know people who work for HOURS on their hours manips; MYSELF INCLUDED. Get off your high horse and get back down here with the rest of us mere mortals.

No. It's clear that you don't care to discover my opinions on this, because you've made some really wrong assumptions. Your comment has been reported, you have been banned from my page, and DAMN was that a good laugh. Yes, I am a bitch. A good one. I owe positively NOTHING to you. You took it personally, and that's cute, but quite frankly unless you are an art thief who rapes my photographs and my good will by stealing it and posting it places without my permission or makes money off MY work, this rule really has nothing to do with you. Or does it? Ask if you want to know, or stfu. Exceptions have been made for intelligent, tactful individuals.

There are always people who try harder and actually make gorgeous art. There will always be an exception to every rule.

I mean, I've been providing background stock (not this account, in case you're confused) for close to a year and a half, maybe two years, I don't remember. 80% of those stock uses have been horse themed manipulations, in which a horse was cut out and pasted on the background I broke myself in half to capture. That's about it. Horse+background. It makes me sad. Even kind of upset, because I know I worked hard on my end only to get ripped off by people who ignore copyright laws, and make bad art besides.

And by that I mean that of 80% of uses, about 40% are noted rulebreakers. Baaad ones. No credit, posting them all over ponybox, the bane of my existence. And that 40% is why I said "enough. I've had enough."

It totally and completely sucks for everyone that tries and creates beautiful pieces, doesn't it? Boils down to this: if an artist like yourself wanted to use these, I'd let you. Gladly even, because even a cursory glance of your gallery demonstrates how much you care about the matter.

Congratulations on being the rare 20%. I knew you'd show up sometime, even if I had to piss you off to get you to comment. :lmao:

I sympathize totally with the issues there. I don't know if I'd ever provide stock with the troubles it seems to bring. I kind of knew this was why you said "no horses", but I had to see if this was the cause or if you really had issues with the sheer number of horse manipulations the way some people hate anime-style art just because it's popular, regardless of quality. I hadn't realized the percentages were so high, however. I know I see my fair share of "meh" images and manipulations that are an insult to the stock itself, but seeing as I watch some of the best and lurk at some of the higher echelon studios, I guess I only see the 20%. Once again: I don't think I'll ever do stock cause I simply don't wanna know x.x

It did seem almost an insult to all horse manipulations. Maybe you should say "Enough with the copy/paste horses. In fact, no horses at all, just to be safe. Sorry." My irritation was not brought on by a feeling of personal insult, but what went through my mind were all the artists whom I respect, and if it applied to them it would make you a complete ignorant ass :) No insult intended after the fact, of course

I'm happy you think my art is something worthwhile, I was afraid I qualified for the copy/paste crowd with every manip I've ever done where modification was limited. If I don't use at least three stock images I feel like I'm cheating...

Now, I'm not claiming that I'm not an ass, but if I am I'm not an ignorant one.I can certainly be snarky. ;) It's the sheer numbers in general that totally dragged me down, and sadly this is the only comment you've seen me make regarding the issue, whereas my friends have heard me explain far more so in that respect it's somewhat taken out of context.

Still, I could show you the kind of work I'm talking about but it would make me a jerk for naming names and pointing fingers. I do recognize good quality when I see it, but I tend to parody the art that is considered "popular" around here. I dislike when people cannot come up with their own concepts and become a factory of pumping out mediocre work just for the pageviews. Still, there are beautiful pieces to be found in the masses of ';popular' images that deserve the hype.

I have to tell ya, life as a stock artist jades a person. You can moniter what's popular in digital art at the moment just by what is being used and how, and it's really not for the easily frustrated sort to deal with.

And also: "I know I see my fair share of "meh" images and manipulations that are an insult to the stock itself, but seeing as I watch some of the best and lurk at some of the higher echelon studios, I guess I only see the 20%." This statement makes me want to scan your watchlist just as a source of hope. :lmao: Sometimes, you need it.

I feel the same way about using less than three images. I even had to start making a note of it on one of my stock accounts as to what comprises a photomanipulation. Some people choose ease over excellence.

:peace:

No, I've seen, trust me :P I usually browse a small handful of completed images that are posted in the comments below the stock. They're usually below average skill, some utterly suck, and one or two might be so good I lose the muse to try

Some of the faves on my watchlist are =larfsalot =xNalax *entaie(she's kinda new, never even heard of studios until recently) ~Kryptic223 and ~how-a-heart-breaks. There's many, MANY I don't watch, but good artists usually converge around other good artists, so check their friends list, who comments in their journal, etc. I work at Imagine That and hope to apply some day at Surreal Studios (I don't have the link on hand, google it).

My Olivia picture, for example, only uses two images. But there was no sky to edit, the background was so totally beautiful to begin with, nothing really I could do and I just felt like making something quick and pretty. Sometimes you have to give yourself some room just to work, without looking for this meadow, this mountain, this star brush, this strangely looming planet etc. You can make it so hard to work no work gets done :)

I imagine too much exposure to anything can make one jaded. I certainly feel that a little after years role playing and a considerable time photomanipulating I look at things through different eyes. Certain reactions are to be expected, and some people handle it well. Some spread the word of copyright laws and give their support to new and growing communities. Some break down over art theft, pull a myspace and disappear. I plan to be around for some time, so I can't let negative things get to me. I hope you hang around too :)

I'm really working on the sticking-around-thing, but there's some serious stock drama going on right now if you read =cookiekitty-stock's journal, and if my gallery winds up being deleted...I may have no choice. I'll still keep up with my art account, though. :D
